What does it cost?
Public read endpoints are free, including anonymous access for basic queries. Higher-volume and write access uses a free API key with tiered rate limits. See the developer portal for current limits.
What data is available?
Food asset entities and their locations, categories, and relationships, plus kitchen listings and availability. The interactive endpoint reference on the developer portal lists every endpoint and response shape.
Can AI assistants use it?
Yes. Food Web runs a free MCP server so assistants like Claude and Cursor can query the food asset map and community forum directly. It uses the same data and a one-command connection.
Can I contribute data back?
Yes. Signed-up contributors can submit entities and corrections, which go through a curator review queue before appearing on the public map.
