Deposits on Food Web

A refundable hold — not a charge

Some kitchens ask for a security deposit to cover damage or extra cleaning. On Food Web that deposit is a temporary card hold: it is placed around your session, released automatically after it, and only ever captured if the kitchen files a claim and Food Web approves it.

How it works

1

You see it before you book

Kitchens that require a deposit show the amount on their page and at checkout — it's always listed separately from what you pay.

2

A hold, never a charge

Around the start of your session we authorize the deposit on your saved card as a temporary hold. The money never leaves your account.

3

A short review window

After your session ends, the kitchen has a short window (typically 72 hours) to report damage or extra cleaning. Most bookings sail through without one.

4

Released automatically

If no claim is filed, the hold is released automatically when the window closes. If a claim is filed, Food Web reviews it — only an approved amount is ever captured, and the rest is released.

What you'll see on your order

Every deposit shows up on your order page with a status chip so you always know where it stands.

ScheduledDeposit planned — the hold has not been placed yet.
HeldThe hold is on your card while your session runs.
ReleasedReturned in full — nothing was charged.
Partially chargedAn approved claim captured part of the hold; the remainder was released.
Card failedWe could not place the hold — update your card in your dashboard.

Kitchen owners: deposits are configured per station in your kitchen settings. When something goes wrong, file a claim from your dashboard within the review window — Food Web reviews the evidence and decides the captured amount.
