Food Web’s Kitchen Credit Program, in partnership with Feed Nova Scotia, helps early-stage food entrepreneurs in Nova Scotia access licensed kitchen space. It is for people facing financial or other barriers, in cities and in rural communities. Apply for up to $1,500. Funding is limited and awarded first come, first served while it lasts.

Feed Nova Scotia awarded us $25,000. The majority goes directly into renters' hands as kitchen credit — the rest builds the support that makes the program work.

Who can apply?
This round is for early-stage food entrepreneurs in Nova Scotia who face financial or other barriers to licensed commercial kitchen space. It includes both urban and rural communities. You can apply with a food idea or with a business that is already selling.
Applications are first come, first served while funding remains. If demand exceeds the remaining budget, priority goes to equity-deserving communities, including newcomers, women, and people with limited access to capital.

Approved applicants receive credits funded by Feed Nova Scotia. They sit on your Food Web account like a gift balance. You do not buy them, and you do not repay them. At checkout your available credits are applied first. If the booking costs more than your balance, your card is charged the rest.

Which kitchens can I book?+
Licensed kitchens listed on Food Web, billed in Canadian dollars. Read the listing for that kitchen’s requirements before you book.
When do applications close, and when must I use my credits?+
There is no application deadline. Credits are awarded first come, first served while funding remains. If demand exceeds the remaining budget, equity-deserving communities are funded first. Most grants last 12 months from the day you accept them. The expiry date is on your credit dashboard, and any unused amount returns to the program.

Making better use of Nova Scotia’s kitchens.
Food Web began with a problem co-founder Justin Andrews knew firsthand: growing a baking business without affordable access to commercial kitchen space. Other kitchens already had hours available to share.
The Kitchen Credit Program covers the upfront rental cost that stops new food businesses from booking those hours. Feed Nova Scotia funded it, and the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia (RANS) is a delivery partner. The $25,000 award is split above: $15,000 in renter credit, and the rest for running the program.
